ITINERARY (PRELIMINARY):
WORKING EXPERIENCE WITH GWINNETT STRIPERS (TRIPLE-A AFFILIATE OF ATLANTA BRAVES)
MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL
Living Sport will spend three (3) days learning from and assisting the Gwinnett Stripers!
The Stripers, formerly known as the Gwinnett Braves, are a professional Minor League Baseball team (MiLB) based in Gwinnett County, Georgia, within the Atlanta metropolitan area. The team plays in the Southeast Division of the Triple-A East, and they are the Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. They are located 35 miles northeast of their parent club's stadium, Truist Park in Cobb County. The 2019 season was the 55th season of the affiliation between Richmond/Gwinnett and the major league Braves, the longest-running affiliation in Triple-A. Established in 2009 as members of the International League, the Stripers moved to the Triple-A East in conjunction with Major League Baseball's restructuring of Minor League Baseball in 2021.
Our team will learn the innerworkings of how a Minor League Baseball team operates through seminars and hands-on experience during two (2) Stripers’ baseball games. Over our three day experience, we will learn about all the departments (future job opportunities!) that come together to put on over 70 baseball games per season!
RUGBY ATL
MAJOR LEAGUE RUGBY
Rugby ATL represents the Southeast United States in Major League Rugby. Its geographic coverage spans from the Carolinas to Florida, which is one of the largest captured geographies in the MLR. ATL was founded in 2018 by Owner, Marcus Calloway! Rugby ATL is lead by General Manager, Scott Lawrence and features coaches/players from all over the United States, New Zealand, South Africa, Ireland, Canada, Tonga, and Fiji. Rugby ATL was founded off of a set of four core values that the organization implements in every division of the organization - we call these values P.A.C.E.
P is for developing People
A is for embracing Accountability
C is for Create Change
E for focus on Execution
PACE is a mindset of giving the gift of making others around you successful. It’s accepting reality instead of your own biased feelings. It’s owning your actions, looking for ways to not just accept and adapt to change but to be the catalyst for that change. Finally, it’s being a person of your word and who executes what you commit to.
Rugby ATL continues to serve and grow the Atlanta community through youth development clinics, fan activations, education, and supporting local businesses.
AMERICAN JUNIOR GOLF Association
HOME OF AMERICA’S PREMIER JUNIOR GOLF INTERNSHIP
Also included in the program is a stop in Braselton, Georgia to interact with the staff of the American Junior Golf Association. The American Junior Golf Association or AJGA for short, is considered by many leaders in the golf industry to be the premier junior golf association in the world. With alumni such as Jordan Spieth, Tiger Woods, Paula Creamer, Stacy Lewis, and the list goes on, who could disagree? AJGA also offers one of the best sport internships in the industry!
We will see AJGA headquarters, meet staff members, and engage in some interactive events while on site.
MERCEDES-BENZ STADIUM
HOME TO THE ATLANTA FALCONS & ATLANTA UNITED FC
Arthur Blank, the owner of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons and MLS’s Atlanta United, wanted Mercedes-Benz Stadium to provide an architectural icon for the city and a fan experience that is second to none.
HOK’s design reimagines what a stadium can be, creating a building that looks and functions like no other and that transforms the experience of going to a live event. Mercedes-Benz Stadium, also known as simply "The Benz", is a multi-purpose stadium. Opened in August of 2017 as a replacement for the Georgia Dome. The stadium is operated by AMB Group, the parent organization of the Falcons and Atlanta United. The stadium officially opened on August 26, 2017.
Several events formerly held at the Georgia Dome moved to Mercedes-Benz Stadium following its completion, including the SEC football championship game and the Peach Bowl. In 2018, it hosted the College Football Playoff National Championship and the MLS Cup (as Atlanta United held home field advantage), and it hosted Super Bowl LIII in 2019.
TRUIST Park
HOME TO THE ATLANTA BRAVES (MLB)
Truist Park is the perfect marriage of classic ballpark feel, modern amenities and southern hospitality, which creates a fan experience unlike any other. An intimate setting of 41,000 seats is designed to maximize sightlines, making every seat feel like the "best in the house". The ballpark features the highest percentage of seats closer to the field than any other ball park in Major League Baseball.
Truist Park is located in the Atlanta metropolitan area, approximately 10 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta in the community of Cumberland, in Cobb County, Georgia. It has been the home ballpark for the Atlanta Braves since 2017.
Following a bank merger of BB&T Corporation and SunTrust Banks, the ballpark was renamed Truist Park in 2020.

ABOUT ATLANTA:
It’s not just the gleaming skyline that peers through the lush tree canopy. It’s not just the mix of innovative flavors and Southern traditions. It’s also the spirit of the Atlanta people and an approach to life that, no matter how much the world changes, the people of Atlanta remain rock solid. Because even though the world around us has changed, we are still pushing forward. The City in the Forest is ever-evolving, but the truth endures — everything that everyone loves about this city is everything that makes it Atlanta.
Sports are an important part of the culture of Atlanta. The city is home to professional franchises for four major team sports: the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball, the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association, the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League, and Atlanta United FC of Major League Soccer. In addition, the city is home to professional rugby with Rugby ATL, and many of the city's universities participate in collegiate sports. The city also regularly hosts international, professional, and collegiate sporting events.
