“Without Living Sport, I’m not sure if I’d be in the same position I am in now. Not only was I able to receive valuable 1-on-1 time with current industry professionals, I was also able to create relationships with other future leaders in our industry. I was lucky to have experienced Living Sport the summer before my senior year of college. The interviews started coming and this experience was a focal point in every one. Alicia, Living Sport’s Founder, has a passion for helping others stand out as they try to break into sports and went the extra mile to make our Barcelona trip invaluable. This is an experience you can’t find anywhere else.”

“July 15, 2018 is the day my life changed! It was my first overseas trip and the day I participated with Living Sport in Dublin. This trip helped me step out of my comfort zone and pushed me to work harder. Working Tough Mudder was an amazing experience and it displayed the different aspects of an international sporting event. Not only did I gain sport industry knowledge, I also met some great people in the the process. Because of Living Sport I have been given an opportunity to work in China. I would definitely recommend the program to anyone wanting to expand their sport industry knowledge. Living Sport is changing lives one trip at a time!”

“I entered Living Sport as a recent college graduate who just started his first professional job in sports. To say I was inexperienced is an understatement. When the Barcelona trip culminated, I felt as if I learned a year’s worth of knowledge in 10 days. Alicia, Living Sport’s founder, has a keen eye for talent.  That means we were working with the best and brightest young minds the country has to offer. We were challenged as a group, but all the challenges brought us closer together, making us all friends by the end. We still communicate with each other in our GroupMe account to update and congratulate each other. The mentors on the trip are industry professionals who are willing to help.  I gained a wealth of knowledge listening to their seminars and conversing with them. We share experiences together, that will help me when I decide to make my next career move. The Living Sport experience is unforgettable. The Living Sport people are special. The Living Sport alumni are ready to take on anything the world can throw at them.”

"Participating with Living Sport was one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences that I am thankful I took. Through this program, I was able to make new friends in the same industry as myself while also experiencing a new country and an international sports experience. Working at the Red Hook Crit was an amazing experience. I also enjoyed all the seminars as they helped to further educate me on the sports industry. I would recommend the program for anyone looking to gain a new and unique experience in the sports industry. It was definitely an amazing experience!"

“My experience with Living Sport helped launch my career in sports business in many ways. Prior to working with Living Sport, I had always told myself that I would move anywhere for a position that suited me in the sports industry and Living Sport made me realize that it would be possible to move and work outside of the U.S. Working alongside Red Hook Crit offered unique challenges - language barriers, setbacks, and being completely outside of your comfort zone. The connections that I made in just a short ten days will last a lifetime, and part of this is because of the challenges that we were forced to overcome. Participating in Living Sport and gaining international sport experience will without a doubt be a conversation starter on your resume. Without participating in Living Sport, I can firmly say that I would not be in the position that I am today. What an experience!”

She creates time for all of her mentees and is extremely passionate about sport and assisting young professionals in the industry. Participating in Living Sport was an experience that took my breath away. Living Sport will allow you to stand out in the workplace and create professional friendships for life. I cannot wait to see where Living Sport takes their next group of young professionals. This real life experience is not a vacation, instead it is a step in the direction toward succeeding in the sport industry. I have Alicia and the Living Sport team to thank for my current success."

“Traveling to Ireland and working an amazing event like Tough Mudder would never have been possible without Living Sport. We had the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals and learn the behind-the-scences of what it really takes to put on a large-scale event. The program immersed us in Irish culture through stadium tours, iconic landmark tours and visiting local establishments. Through this program, I was able to make new friends in the same industry as myself while also experiencing a new country. I now can put international sports experience on my resume. Additionally, resume workshops and seminars were held to further educate me on the sports industry and grow into a professional. I would recommend the program for anyone looking to gain international hands-on experience in the sports industry. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will never forget!”

“When I decided to be a part of Living Sport's inaugural trip, I was already two years removed from undergrad and a few months removed from grad school, having a tough time breaking into my career field. I came in with a journalism background and although very different from the other participants, Alicia was more than pleased to bring me along. She created a position specifically for me on the trip and brought the tools to help me succeed. Alicia and her staff did just enough to get us going in our respective duties and they weren't afraid to give us a push and let us all excel on our own. Within a month of returning home I received an interview and they were impressed with my internship and today I'm on the path I wanted all along.”

“When I discovered Living Sport, I knew two things; I loved sports and I wanted to study business. It was my first time traveling alone, and stepping out of my comfort zone with completely new people in an unfamiliar country was a daunting concept. It was definitely one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I was surprised to find I made fast friends, and it was refreshing to be able to talk about sports with people who were just as passionate about that as I was. I still keep up with a lot of the people I traveled with even though they live across the country from me. Working a triathlon was exhausting but also exhilarating and I found my love for working live events. Working with Alicia and the other mentors taught me a lot in terms of professional and occupational knowledge, and it has already helped me in my current job and interviewing for internships. Since coming back I have found a lot of success with a sports business group on campus and have applied for a second major in sport business. I wouldn’t trade the experience I had with Living Sport for the world, and I wholeheartedly encourage anyone even considering the program to at least apply. You won’t find any other sport experience like this one.”

“I was part of the inaugural Living Sport trip, which took place in Barcelona. The trip was an absolute blast. Having Living Sport volunteers as the backbone of the operations of the Red Hook Criterium was crucial to my professional development. Telling stories of experience and using materials from the trip in interviews and meetings has furthered my career into what it is today. Knowing no one on the trip beforehand was great. It pushed me out of my comfort zone, which is really important to learn about yourself, grow, and be yourself in a professional environment. Living Sport allowed me to work together with people, and allowed me to become close friends with several of the members to this day. It is a close bond we shared and I will forever be grateful for Alicia and the program she has developed.”

"My experience with Living Sport was something that I will forever remember. Being able to work an international sporting event showed me how different sports can be all over the world. It was not an easy feat working the race weekend, but it was totally worth it. I was able to make so many new connections with professionals, as well as other college students who are future sports business professionals. The whole Living Sport staff was welcoming, knowledgeable, and a great resource during the trip. I see this trip being able to set me apart from other candidates when I am searching for employment and it becoming a topic of interest for employers. Barcelona is a beautiful city and the sightseeing excursions were one of my favorite parts. We were able to visit many sporting venues that opened my eyes to a whole new part of the sports world! This trip was a once in a lifetime experience and I am so happy I took advantage of it!"

“When I first met Alicia at the Pennsylvania State Sports Business Conference in the Spring of 2018, I was immediately intrigued by Living Sport. I had always wanted to study abroad, although my University does not offer specific sports management trips. I knew that the summer of 2018 trip to Dublin, Ireland would be a perfect opportunity to gain valuable work experience, learn more within the industry, as well as fulfill my thirst for adventure. While many participants had graduated, and were older than myself, I found that being surrounded by these sports business professionals and having the chance to pick the minds of our mentors really opened my eyes to all the different career paths and fields within the industry. Talking to people who have been where I want to be, and discussing paths for me to achieve my goals was invaluable. The amount of sights we saw, and fun we had was well worth the trip; but what I really enjoyed was everything we learned. This environment was ideal for me to learn about myself, and grow as a person and professional. Every day proved something new, and even when things became challenging, we were always having fun. This experience was by far the best thing I have ever done. I left with great work experience, so many amazing memories, and incredible close friends, many of whom I still keep in touch with.”
